Six persons lost their lives while five others sustained various degrees of injuries in a road accident that occurred on Thursday night along the Daura-Kano Road in Katsina State.
The accident, which involved a Volkswagen Golf car and a Peugeot J5 van, occurred at Chadi Village in Sandamu Local Government Area of the state.
The incident, was confirmed by the State Commandant, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ali Tanimu. According to the commandant, the incident took place around 9pm on Thursday adding that the two vehicles suffered a head-on collision.
Eyewitnesses said the remains of the victims have been deposited at the General Hospital Morgue in Daura where those who sustained injuries were being attended to.
